Hey, Dans back again.

I've got some new movies coming... pro actors, festival release... and I need some fitting tracks.
I need a metal band who'll be willing to compose a song for me (I can't pay.. sorry). I'm in the process of trying to write some lyrics... I need some kickass guitars, and a throaty growl to sing over them.
Think... Linkin Park mixed with MentalIssues... thats the sound I'm looking for. The film will be released to Australian film festivals, and later will be on various video sites all over the net. If your interested, drop a comment or send me a PM.
Thanks!

Hey people.

So I wrote a new script, and I need to find music for it. I was looking for classical music, but I can't find exactly what I need.
Maybe you can help. Let me paint a picture for you, and you imagine the music that would play.
A Sniper crouches on a cliff, and scans the road below. A patrol appears in the distance, and the sniper gets into position. The sniper pulls the bolt back on his rifle, and slams a bullet into the chamber. looking down the scope, he watches as the group get closer. SUSPENSE SUSPENSE SUSPENCE!!! For what seems like an eternity, they finally get within range. The sniper fixes his sights on a target, and hovers his finger over the trigger.... the unsuspecting person laughes and jokes with the rest of the patrol.
BOOM....
Bodies start to fall, bullets in all directions... bodies drop, others dive for cover, firing weapons in every direction....
Chaos has unleashed.

Now... wheres a song that would fit a scene like that?

Also... I'm thinking about holding a mini competition for a short film I'm shooting later this year. I have a poem, that I wish to be turned into a nice slow song... but I neither posess the skills to sing, or compose music. So, if I was to supply lyrics... I would hold a competition for someone to turn that into a song I can use in my film.
The prize would be well worth the time.
But... I'm unsure if I should hold this comp, or if I am allowed to on Newgrounds.
Your thoughts?

In the last year and a half I've been visiting this website (Without logging in, which is kinda sneaky, rude and cruel of me) I've listened to some of the most touching music ever played to me. I've only recently started to include these tracks in my own creations (that being, movies and trailers). I've known that doing this could have either positive or negative effects on my popularity amongst those whose music I've used. Although the music is created and released under a free-use agreement, It still should be said that the artists should be informed that you are using their creations. Those of you whose music I've borrowed, I thank you for not making a big deal out of it. I promise, if I ever make it further into my movie-making (If I start going commercial, or selling DVD copies/Indie style with my films), I will donate a sufficient amount to the artist(s) responsible for the music.
Before I go completely off-topic... I should mention those whose music has captivated me most.
Bosa, some of the best classical stuff I've heard (Your Prelude) and also some pretty decent techno...
MilkManDan, who I understand no longer creates music for this site... your song "Time" still touches me to this day. If I can ever find a way to contact you, I'd like to discuss use of that track in a future project.
ThatComposerGuy, who is by far my favourite artist... his classical pieces have brought me to tears, had me thinking of the past, understanding the future... he is simply to talented for words.
And all the others I couldn't find words to express my gratitude. PragonX9, EON, WaterFlame (who's track "ShowDown" was featured in one of my cancelled films "Car Lovers Revenge"), MrMilkCarton (you dominate my newgrounds downloads list... your techno tracks are amazing) and others...
I will try and contact those whose tracks I wish to use in my future projects... If I don't contact you, understand that you will be credited in full, and that I did not fail to contact you ON PURPOSE.
Thanks for taking the time to read this;
Daniel Rutter.

Yes, I am a movie maker. Which won't say much for this site, as you guys only host flash bits and audio tracks.
If you take a glance at a few of my movies, you will notice I credit artists here for their tracks alot. Greeksta-69, being one of them for my most recent collab-project with my sister (Postal Assassin) for his track Ethnic Banger. I love the tracks I find on here, and I'm very proud to feature them in my movies. I love the fact that they are free to use, and I can find some very high quality tracks.
I'm always looking for something to go into a fight sequence/shootout sequence, so if you guys want to submit anything... I will gladly use it!
In the future, I will be submitting my work to studios/film festivals, and if I win anything... I'll get into contact with those people behind the tracks... and try and rewards them for their efforts.
Thanks newgrounds, I salute you all for the great stuff you host!
